Thrown & Altered

For wheel throwers ready to break out of round forms. Six weeks of throwing, then cutting, darting, faceting, and reassembling pots into more sculptural pieces.

Prerequisite

Comfortable centering and throwing a cylinder. The class assumes you can throw a wall — we work on what happens after.

What You'll Explore

  • Faceting (carving flat planes into a thrown form)
  • Darting (cutting and re-joining to create square or oval shapes)
  • Combining wheel work with handbuilt elements
  • Glazing surfaces that complement altered forms
