Private Pottery Parties & Events in Denver
Birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, family gatherings, and any excuse to get a group around the wheel together.
Claya is a 6,000 sq ft pottery studio in Denver's RiNo Arts District, and we host private pottery events for the moments worth marking: a birthday that does not feel like every other birthday, a baby shower with something to take home, a bridal shower, an anniversary, a family weekend, a friends-since-college reunion. Two hours, hands in clay, your group laughing at their own wobbly first bowls. People remember it.
What we host
- Birthday parties — adult or kids’ birthdays, on the wheel or handbuilding
- Baby and bridal showers — everyone takes home something they made
- Anniversaries and date nights for groups — warm, hands-on, easy to talk during
- Family gatherings and reunions — works for kids, parents, and grandparents at the same table
- Friend group celebrations — any excuse, really

Frequently asked questions
Does anyone in our group need pottery experience?
No. Our instructor walks everyone through centering the clay and pulling up their first piece. Total beginners are the norm at private events.
How far in advance should we book?
Two weeks minimum, ideally more for Fridays, Saturdays, and end-of-year dates.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothes that can get a little dirty. We provide aprons, but clay can splash. Skip long flowing sleeves.
Can we bring food, drinks, or a cake?
Yes. BYOB is welcome and there is space for cake, snacks, gifts, or a quick toast before or after the pottery session.
Is this good for kids?
Yes. Handbuilding works well for kids’ birthday parties (roughly age 6+). Wheel throwing is best for ages 10+ with adult support, or adult groups.
What happens to the pieces we make?
We fire and glaze them for you. Finished work is ready for pickup in 2–3 weeks, and we can arrange shipping for out-of-town guests.
More photos & what makes private events at Claya different
Pottery is the rare group activity that levels the playing field. Nobody is good at the wheel on the first try, which means everyone laughs, everyone helps, and the room gets loose fast. People who do not usually like crafts end up loving it. People who came to be social end up surprised at how focused they got. By the end, your group has wobbly bowls, group photos that look real, and something they actually made with their hands.
